Details for Mission Opportunities at the Upcoming Convening General Conference

The Global Methodist Church is excited to offer two incredible mission opportunities during the upcoming Convening General Conference taking place in San Jose, Costa Rica, September 20-26. These experiences will provide participants with valuable skills and a deeper sense of service, both locally and in their home communities.

Option 1: Evangelism Training and Prayer Outreach

Join Matt Reynolds and the Spirit & Truth team for a transformative day-long experience focused on Spirit-led evangelism. This opportunity is ideal for those eager to grow in their faith and learn how to effectively share the love of Christ.

What to Expect:

  • Morning Session: Participate in training sessions designed to help you:

    • Grow in discerning guidance from the Holy Spirit

    • Overcome fear barriers in talking about your faith

    • Learn how to be more intentional in sharing Christ in everyday living

  • Afternoon Session: Partner with local Costa Rican Methodists to pray for community members and invite people to local Costa Rican churches.

This day promises to be both impactful and empowering, equipping you with tools to make a difference at home.

  • Tuesday, September 24

Space is limited to 40 participants per day.

Option 2: Facility Enhancement Projects

Join us in making a tangible difference through our Facility Enhancement Projects, focusing on 4-6 mission sites each day. This opportunity is perfect for those who enjoy physical work and wish to contribute to the betterment of church facilities and the lives of children.

What to Expect:

  • Projects: Engage in various physical projects at different sites, including sanctuaries, Sunday school rooms, parsonages, and The Children's Home of Costa Rica.

  • Support: Work alongside work supervisors, translators, and local church members.

  • Schedule: Volunteers will depart from and return to the Convening Conference Center of Costa Rica, with work hours approximately from 9 a.m. to 3:30 – 4 p.m.

  • Meals: Lunch will be provided at local churches.

  • Learning: Spend time learning about the ministry context, meeting with leadership, and advancing specific projects.

Space is limited to 125 participants per day.
